A Day of Rest, Laughter, and Simple Joys

JOURNAL ENTRY #41

FRIDAY, JULY 24, 2026

Jim got me out of the house today and took me into Greenville.

On the way, we stopped in Simpsonville for breakfast at Eggs Up Grill — one of our favorite places to enjoy a good meal together. From there, we spent time browsing through 2nd & Charles before heading over to Planet Comics and Borderlands so Jim could enjoy exploring a few of his favorite comic book stores.

By the time we finished our little adventure, it was time for an early dinner. On the way home, we stopped in Woodruff at Claudio’s Bistro, another wonderful place we’ve enjoyed visiting before. If you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend it.

Today was exactly what my heart needed.

After carrying the weight of this week, spending a quiet day with my husband was the medicine my soul needed. There were no grand events or remarkable accomplishments — just simple moments, shared conversations, and the blessing of being together.

Sometimes healing doesn’t come through extraordinary circumstances. Sometimes it comes through breakfast at a favorite cafe, wandering the aisles of a bookstore, and sharing a meal with someone you love.

Today was another good day.

Finding Beauty in the Everyday.
